Barrier Draw Statistics

The field takes four crucial turns in the Cox Plate, making the barrier draw potentially crucial. Nobody wants to be stuck on the outside, even in a 2040-metre race.

WS Cox Plate Race Winners by Barrier

The recent stats don’t actually back up that an inside barrier is needed. The last ten winners have come from barriers 12, 9, 3, 13, 1, 3, 5, 6, 11 and 6. However, those from 1, 3, 5 and 6 consecutively were all Winx’s wins who frankly could have won if she’d started in the car park.
